About Reiki

Reiki is an ancient form of healing, practiced by numerous energy healers around the world. It is the gift of vitality and self-preservation encoded into the genetic makeup of all God’s creatures. Although the ancient art of healing disappeared with time, it was rediscovered by a Japanese scholar and monk name Dr Mikao Usui, who gave it the current name over a century ago. Reiki is a two syllable Japanese word meaning universal life force.

Madam Takata explained it best when she described Reiki as being similar to radio waves. We cannot see them but we know they are everywhere around us. When we turn on a radio and tune into the radio waves, we can pick up a signal. That signal is turned into a radio programme. Similarly, we are the radio station and we create our own, unique, radio programme -our own life experience. The universal life force is everywhere, although we cannot see it.

There is only one Reiki. No-one has the right to claim it as their own, it belongs to humanity and the universe!
